The Nivison Grain Cradle Factory is the home of the Interlaken Historical Society's Farmers' Museum. Located at 8389 Main Street, the Farmers' Museum open year round by appointment.
The Telephone Company building at 8394 Main Street is the home to the Interlaken Historical Society Community Life Museum and is open year round by appointment.
The Maurice L. Patterson Genealogy Reference Room is located in the Interlaken Public Library at 8390 Main Street. Hours are listed on the library website.
Among the thousands of items in our collection we have historic documents from the late 1790s to the present day, books, flags, Indian artifacts, early American tools for home and farm, clothing from many generations, dolls, and military items. Items not on display are available to aid in research.
The collection of over 2,200 photographs and 1,100 glass plate negatives have been indexed by topic and description. Topics include agriculture, buildings, churches, hotels & inns, houses, streets & roads, lake scenes and pictures of individuals to name a few.
Our regular programs are held four times a year, on the 4th Monday of January, April, July and October. All regular programs are free and open to the public and held at handicapped accessible locations. Annual events include an Old Fashion Social, Volunteer Tea, and Plowing Day Country Fair.
